Jakarta Heritage Update

The Cultural Heritage Agency of the Netherlands and DutchCulture are organizing an expert meeting on the revitalization of the historic inner city of Jakarta.

Over the past years, Jakarta has been taking great progress in revitalizing its historic inner city, known as Kota Tua, with public, private and community partners working together. A delegation from Jakarta consisting of major stakeholders will visit the Netherlands in November 2015 to further strengthen cooperation on heritage management between Indonesia and the Netherlands.

On the occassion of the working visit of the delegation from Jakarta, DutchCulture and the Cultural Heritage Agency of the Netherlands (Rijksdienst voor het Cultureel Erfgoed) are organising an expertmeeting. You are invited to meet the delegation and exchange experiences.

13.30-14.00   Heritage policy of the Jakarta government and UNESCO World Heritage nomination of Jakarta Kota Tua. Presentation by Sylviana Murni (Dep. Governor of Culture and Tourism at the DKI Jakarta government)
14.00-14.30   Revitalization of Jakarta Kota Tua. Presentation by Lin Chi Wei (CEO of Jakarta Old Town Revitalization Corporation)
14.30-15.00   Break
15.00-15.30   Conservation and Management of Heritage Cities in Indonesia. Presentation by Punto Wijayanto (member of the board of directors of the Indonesian Heritage Trust and heritage advisory team for P3KP)
