Shared Cultural Heritage: Themes

These themes have been identified for a more focused commitment to shared heritage, and are based on an analysis of trends and results achieved. Initiatives and applicants for Shared Cultural Heritage incentives and funds of the programme partners are to cover at least one of these themes:

(1) Historic city centres
(2) Heritage and water management
(3) The role of heritage in the images that Dutch and others have historically formed of one another

Initiatives will have to be generated in the field, both in the Netherlands and elsewhere, and involve cooperation between a Dutch and at least one foreign partner. A strong element of reciprocity will be required.
