Shared Cultural Heritage: Countries

The Shared Cultural Heritage programme focuses on ten countries with which the Netherlands has a shared past.

Shared Cultural Heritage stands for the tangible and intangible traces left abroad by the Netherlands during their trade and colonial history. Between 2017 and 2020, the Shared Cultural Heritage programme focuses on ten partner countries: Australia, Brazil, India, Indonesia, Japan, Russia, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Suriname and the United States of America.

On the country pages you can find a short description of the shared heritage that the Netherlands has with these countries, as well as some useful links.
