ArtRoPa

The Centre for Visual Arts started in 2007 the ArtRoPa project. This project is part of the four-year cooperative agreement between the municipality of Rotterdam and the Republic of Suriname. ArtRoPa gives Surinamese visual artists the opportunity to spend time in a guest studio of the artist initiative DUENDE in Rotterdam. The ArtRoPa studio programme is part of a collaborative between the Centre for Visual Arts, DUENDE, the Dutch Embassy in Paramaribo and the federation of visual artists in Suriname (FVAS). Financial support has been given by DKC (dienst Kunst and Cultuur) of the municipality of Rotterdam.
